Hi guys, my friend recently bought a used Trinity sIII combo and it has a switch on the bottom of the amp in between the three smaller tubes. He says it adds volume but was wondering what kind of sounds the switch was designed for. My 18 watt Plexi doesn't have any switches in the back for tone so I was wondering if someone knows if the switch is a default on sIII models, or if the previous owner might have done the mod to hit by himself. Any knowledge would be appreciated thanks.

If you look at an sIII schematic in the resource forum, you will see what the switch does. And for that matter, any of our amps.
however, in the sIII it changes the bypass cap of the second gain stage.
