But I am starting to think that the 4X12 Marshall cab ist not that kind of tone-machine that I want, something about the construction perhaps??

Try running the cab "detuned" and see if you prefer the tone. It simply means you take two of the speakers out leaving their holes open as front ports. A lot of people like how this sounds, and it's easy enough to try out.

since you have both the "Trinity tweed Deluxe" and the "Trinity Tramp", would you say that I can can get Fender tweed Deluxe tones out of it?

I don't think the 18W forum is really where this question belongs....

Is this the only cascade mod? I don't want to choose the wrong method :)

I am thinking about trying it on my Plexi, have not decided which channel yet. As I understood it you kill one channel since the inputs will be grounded, right?

Thanks!

I would buy a kit that had this fully implemented, including the VRM/VVR and footswitchable cascade. I can read schematics and understand what's going on, but not create my own layout of same, so that would too be a requirement! Much preference to have it be 6V6 based as opposed to EL84's, but that's probably the easiest thing to get around, maybe some minor bias circuit changes?

When you switch in the cascade, the other channel becomes part of a single circuit and is not available to use until switched out. You can cascade either channel into the other and you can foot switch if you want to.
