I am installing an interlock on my chassis on my 18watter, so as to when the backlate is removed there will be no more 120vac in the amp. I am wiring it in before the power switch. I am doing this via a heavy duty micro switch.

Has anyone tried this yet? What do I need to watch out for?

Any thoughts?

Fora start, Make sure it can handle the current. 2A or more. Mount it very solidly, with lock washers so it wont come loose when playing. Make sure you put it on the 115V hot side. Should be same wire as the fuse is.

BTW, what fuse do you use in the 18watt? 1A slowblow I think I read somewhere.

Bob,

It depends on your wall voltage. For 115V it should be 2 amp, for 240 it is 1 amp (as on the original schematic).

A type of fuse that does not instatly blow when 2A is reached. It allows for a start-up surge and some current headroom. Just ask for it at your local store.

I know what a slowblow is.... I was wondering if it you need to use a slowblow or not. But I guess that answers my question.
