In the meantime if anyone could advise me how to configure the cathode R and set the OT impedance for a Tramp to run a 5881, or if there's a chart with recommended circuit conditions for popular types of output tubes Tramps use.

Run it like a 6L6. Good point on the chart though. We will put one together. For now, EL34 and KT88 use 2.5K setting. Rest 5K

Hi Stephen...
I just sat down to make a chart, checked the forums here and saw your post and was wondering if you happened to put one together. I also want to confirm if any changes need to be made to the cathode resistor value for running a KT66 or KT88 (or EL34?). I recall reading somewhere in this forum or probably the build manual that an additional cathode resistor needs to be placed in parallel with the 750 and 570 ohm resistors when using the EL34, KT88.
Currently, I run the EL34 using the 2.5K primary and the cathode resistor setting for the 6L6. The amp sounds great, no issues, but don't want to jeopardize anything with incorrect voltages, etc.
Thanks!

EDIT...I found the answer here: http://www.trinityamps.com/phpbb/viewto ... =16&t=3234

The EL34 sounds really good. It seems to stay a little cleaner than the 5881 when the amp is "wide open". A little warmer-sounding. The short clip I posted has the EL34.
