- check your jumpers
- coax (shorting the inner core (signal) and shield (ground) is very common)
- check your wiring, mainly around pots and tube socket.

I wasn't at the Tramp Camp, but I have one or two spots I had to fix before mine worked.

First, I had the zener diode backwards.

Second, I had to jumper both center lugs of the impedence switch to get my amp to work.
