first off, it's kinda shitty, but it's something at least :)

i start off with the gain cranked, trying to push it as "far" as it goes...

then i back the gain off a bunch and play some more stuff

then i back the gain off a bit more and play even more...

the tone controls on the amp are about in the middle, and the master volume is kinda low because there were people home at the time ;)

plus, I'm still learning how to setup the sm57 properly, so the recording lost a bit of the high end clarity and seems a bit mid-heavy...

and also I still kinda suck at playing the guitar but hoooooooopefully it's not TOO painful for you all to listen to.. hahahah.... i think it needs tuning

(incidentally, the guitar is an sg, most of the time with the switch set to both pickups, and the cab is 2x10 with an eminence legend and the celestion g10l35, with all JJ 12ax7's and EI el84's and whatever the standard rectifier is, i forgot)

so yeah here it is.. try and see past my awful guitar skills! :D

i'll work on a better one soon, but i figured I'd post a little something to start with! :D

You can sure get a wide range of sounds with that Lightning. 8)

My thoughts too. I like it for it's versatility. If I get to feelin' I don't have enough clean head room, I go to a 2x12 with efficient speakers like celestion blue or vintage 30 or eminence (like I have hooked up now, and it is grand.

Add a few pedals and you multiply your options.

I like to run a basically clean amp and use certain pedals to get a nice overdrive sound. There are times that I can use amp distortion, but it's not often - it's usually just too loud for the place I play at. 8)
