Considering this amp has a vox like front end it's no surpise that it sounds like this with a treble booster.

The booster was totally cranked. Settings were.

: High input
: Volume 3:00
: Bass Just a hair above 12:00
: Treble all the way down.
: Master less than 9:00 o'clock

I used a '62RI strat in the number two position. (You can hear the pickup selector change at the begining of the track. No Problem cutting through the mix with this setup.

What treble booster are you using on the amp?

For this track I used a Cripsy Cream. I am, however, anxios to get a hold of one of s2's tube based models. Either way the TB brings out a whole new character in the amp. I have a Java Boost as well and that provides a tougher sound.

I can only imaging what at tube would sound like in this applications.

s2, email sent.

What kind of tube would you like me to stick in it before I ship it to you?

I'm anxious to get my hands dirty on some pedal-crafting when I get done with a few more amps...

The rangemaster is actually going to be the first one I build, being that it's such a simple design. I think I have a germanium transistor here in a box somewhere too!

After that, it's a ross compressor clone....

Hey s2. Stock is good. I am a tube swapping freak over hear. Although my keeley came with a second transitor I am all for more options valves provide.

Ok. Of course, you can put anything in the 12A?7 family in there for a wide variety of sounds. I'm liking a GE (made in Holland) 12AU7 at the moment with the saturation and bias high. Yummy!

BTW, my beta tester offered to trade his Java Boost for the boost2 I loaned him. I won't quote him, but there was a lot of the use of the "F" word sprinkled with "GREAT!"

This is too funny. I just found the schematic for the java boost and I was going to set out and build one in the next few weeks...

I guess no mullard OC44 is going to take the place of a real tube! 8)

12AU"Frekin"7 eh? I got a whack of those...mostly Ge's and RCA's. I will start saving my doh so I don't have to move and change my phone number when the pedal arrives.
