Trinity Amps builds three 18 Watt amplifiers based on
the original Marshall 18 Watt design - the Trinity 18 sIII, TMB-MV (Treble-Midrange-Bass, Master Volume) and the Trinity 18 v6 version.
The original 18 Watt amps were built
between 1966 and 1968, or so, and only a few hundred
are known to have been made. It's a fairly simple amp
design, that some say Jim Marshall acquired from Charlie
Watkins, of Watkins Electronic Music. It certainly
has a lot in common with the Watkins Dominator and
the Custom 15.
The amplifier is a dual channel design
and straight-forward amplifier. It is an all-tube design
including the power supply rectifier. Cathode bias
operation is utilized for the output stage. This amp
uses a pair of EL84s in a push-pull configuration. Its
design uses no "negative feedback".
The dual channel preamp with its variety
of tone controls is coupled to a serious dual-EL84
power section powered by a tube rectifier. The tone
controls allow the player to attain an excellent array
of complex tones. If you’re looking for
a straight-forward Rock & Roll sound, this is the
amp for you!
