Review of the Trinity 15 Prototype – Chris New, Toronto, Canada

Firstly, the amp is amazing, and I’m having a killer time playing with it. Between all the tones i can pull out of it, i can play for hours with just one song, doing a whole bunch of different styles. Even when it's at full volume the sound still doesn’t' break up, and is just as clear when at the lowest setting. I don't know what else to say other than I’m really, really pleased with it. :) Thanks Steve.

Review of the Trinity 15 – Rik Myers, Florida, USA

Hey Stephen, I've got about 5 hours of playing time on the new Trinity 15 (2 in rehearsal) with the 5U4GB rectifier in there. After a couple of speaker taste tests, I ended up going with a well-broken in paper cone Tone Tubby Alnico 12 (8 ohm). I was surprised that the Tone Tubby won out, but it held together better when pushed than the G12M Alnico and it was bouncier and fuller in the midrange than the G12H30. After a thorough break in, the Tone Tubby sounds great with the Trinity 15.

I think this amp gets on great with the 5U4GB. It sounds perfect. I haven't tried the 5AR4 rectifier yet but I’ll throw it in to taste some time.

You did a really nice job on the amp. It’s quieter than my DC/30 was and has more bounce. Bounce is a musical sort of compression that Alnico speakers often (not always) have that round off the notes when hit hard, but regain their texture and teeth when backed off a bit. This transition from sharp and quick to round and smooth and slow is really fun with some types of amps (and a drag with others). I think the Trinity 15 gets on great with bouncy speakers.

It eats up my '64 Strat and Chapin Hawk and seems to take pedals well.

Really, it sounds like a Matchless...only mo' betta. Very cool!

Oh, by-the-bye, it looks cool, too. The cab work is quite like my old Matchless.

Comments on the Trinity 18 TMB-MV

Killer..!!! Clean...! You on it....! Muchas Gracias !
It was real easy to find my sweet spot. It has a rich tone and the Master Volume provides great gain but manages to keep the tone the same across the frequency band. The amp has a traditional feel to it.
Nice cabinet; great covering; nice color combination. Neat as a Pin.
I can’t thank you enough.

That clip sounds beautiful!!! Very evocative of Moonflower-era Santana...

Man that's a sweet looking amp! I don't get tired of looking at it.

I also have to say that those sound clips are astounding.  I noticed that the amp has a really sweet feedback response in the clips.  Question for you...  Does the Trinity 15 give up such sounds easily?  I mean is that feedback thing kind of an inherent part of the amp itself, or was that the skill of the player (which was quite considerable) showing through? Probably some blend of the two, I imagine.

Thanks for the info.  I checked out your website and it is very cool. I listened to the mp3s again too.  Very, very cool.  Tell your friend he is an excellent musician.  And you built a bloody excellent amp!
