In 2002, Andrew showed some interest in music, but when Stephen
saw the prices of quality amplifiers he was shocked! After the purchase
of a Marshall 2203 and 4X12, and being an engineer by training (a
closet musician and a woodworking hobbyist), he figured he could
probably put something smaller together for a much more reasonable
price.
After consulting with Glen, and conducting considerable research
on the Internet, the Trinity
Deluxe was born - a true point-to-point effort that
worked perfectly first time!
Following much review and further consultation, a Hammond reverb
amp was acquired and, with considerable assistance from Glen and
an international cast of friends, it was successfully converted into
our prototype – our version
of the original Matchless Lightning amplifier using a prototype eyelet board. It was tested professionally,
and it was such a success, that it was promptly sold – clearly
demand was there!
A formal design was created that included a chassis of the same
dimensions as the original, an eyelet board and chassis layout and
a 1X12 cabinet based on the Matchless cabinet. We had interest
globally and have been selling completed amps and cabinets ever since
to musicians and to DIY builders World-Wide and helping people
build their own.
Drawing upon our combined 100 years of experience, our considerable
research the contributions from a myriad of like-minded people throughout
the world and some simple trial and error, we are now in a position
to consistently offer our clients a range of high-quality, custom-made
products at a fraction of the price compared to the “established” brands.
